Online Fashion Finds

I love fashion. Yeah, I’m deep.

Back when dinosaurs roamed, I covered fashion for a city magazine. The job included trips to New York (fun), schlepping to designer’s showrooms to select clothes for photography shoots (way fun), and stomping around at the shoots doing my best to see that the borrowed items weren’t ruined (not fun). I am in no way an expert here – I’ve also been a public relations manager, a yoga instructor, a mom, a jewelry designer, a marketing director, a receptionist, an elementary school computer teacher and now work for an interior design firm. Yes, I have career ADD. But I digress ….

My first addiction was handbags. Then came shoes. Then came dresses. Jewelry – vintage or handmade with few exceptions. Oh, and there is that little problem of having champagne taste on a three-buck Charlie budget. Thank God for eBay and the term “gently used”.

I found some nice items when wandering around the internet the other day. Sharing:

FAB SHOES:   Badgley Mischka “Tai”, Joan & David “Demille”, Adidas by Stella McCartney “Corrigia”, Nine West “Hamish”, Lauren by Ralph Lauren “Faith” and “Faran”.

DRESSES:  love, love, love –  the great lines of the little black number by See by Chloë – “Silk Habotai Dance Dress”; the colors of Trina Turk’s textured silk Shendi Dress; the 70’s style of a cotton cutie by JWLA – “Raquel  3/4  Sleeve Dress”. Tommy Bahama (?!) has designed the sexiest long pareo ever – this wonder covers everything and gives up nothing. I will not recommend one-shoulder anything; I cannot stand the “yabba dabba do/Wilma Flintstone” image of one-shoulder anything.

HANDBAGS: “Camron” hobo by Marc New York, the very stylish “Papilone Rosa” clutch by Gustto, and the oh-so-smart “Petitetrenza” tote by Stuart Weitzman.

JEWELRY:  Didn’t really look at much but did find a great site with very inexpensive, fun earrings, bracelets, etc. Check out – the set of 16 textured gold bangles, ($35) caught my eye.

That’s all for today. Time to search under the sofa and all purse bottoms for loose change.
